Think about these considerations to make culture change easier in your organization:

  • Culture is “how we do things.” If behavior doesn’t change, culture won’t.
  • The culture is a control system – for better and worse.
  • Culture is shaped by incentives; and these can influence behaviors.
  • Culture helps employees make sense of what’s happening, especially in times of change.
  • Culture is a key source of shared identify and views of the organization.
  • Culture is your organization’s immune system.
  • Organizational culture is shaped by societal culture.
  • Never monolithic, culture is always multi-layered.
  • Culture is dynamic and flexible.
  • Culture is resilient.
