Employers are aware that working parents have more pressures and responsibilities than ever, and they fear that they aren’t doing enough to help. According to a new survey of employers:
- Fewer than half say their programs and policies are effectively meeting the needs of working parents.
- 74% say that supporting working parents is a top priority, although one in four say they’re losing employees because of increased caregiving responsibilities.
- 97% say they offer flexible hours for working parents. More than one-fourth report that they provide access to backup childcare services or discounts/subsidies for daycare or other supports.
