The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is seeking public comment on specific topics related to COVID exposure and safety in healthcare settings. Toward this end, the agency will hold virtual hearings beginning on April 27. Elsewhere, written comments may be submitted as well. OSHA is expected to use some of this information to develop a permanent standard.
Among the topics OSHA is seeking input on:
- How a future standard should/would define when someone is “fully vaccinated” and whether current requirements should relaxed or changed based on vaccination status.
- What impact new and emerging variants might have on rules and guidance.
All submitted comments must include the agency’s name and docket number for this rulemaking (Docket No. OSHA-2020-0004). All comments, including any personal information provided, are placed in the public docket without change and may be made available online at www.regulations.gov.
