By Joanne Kaldy / February 6, 2020

Most business leaders report experiencing growth and increased profits, but the economy weighs heavy on them as Election Day 2020 approaches. According to a survey, top issues for business owners and leaders are:

  • The economy (95% ranked it as at least “somewhat important”)
  • Taxes (90%)
  • Healthcare (76%)
  • Tariffs/trade policies (67%)
  • Immigration (60%)
  • Gun policy (56%)
  • Opioid crisis (55%)
  • Climate change (54%)
  • Income inequality (54%)

These results align with those from a survey conducted ahead of the 2016 elections. At that time, the top issues were identified as the economy, taxes, and healthcare.
