Employers will be happy to hear that their employees generally are pleased with the training they’re getting, but they say they want more:
- 55% say they will need more training to enhance their performance in their current roles.
- 32% say they want training to have a social element, including peer learning or learning groups. While they want more training, it want it less frequently.
- Workers want training that is more relevant to their roles.
There is some disconnect between what employers are offering and what employees want. For instance, 61% of employers say they provide time management training, but only 42% of employees say they want this. However, both sides agree that there needs to be a focus on hard skills, such as technical/computer acumen and marketing abilities.
