Employers can do more to support working parents. According to a new survey:
- 41% of working parents say they don’t know what benefits are available to them.
- 47% don’t think their employer understands their challenges.
- 46% say their career growth is on hold or at risk because of the pandemic.
- 25% say they don’t have a work-life balance.
As more than half of working parents say the pandemic has been the most stressful time of their lives, employers have an opportunity to increase engagement and loyalty and improve the quality of life for these employees. Start by making sure that workers are aware of the benefits you offer to support working parents. Look at ways to enable more flexible work schedules. Encourage those who need help to reach out. As life to returns to some semblance of normal, they will remember that you were there for them when they needed it the most.
