While leadership has been focused on the pandemic, staffing shortages, and other issues, cybercriminals have continued to be active and causing problems for organizations. Now is a good time to take three key steps to protect against cybercrime:
- Create a comprehensive plan. Make sure cybersecurity measures are part of everyday routines and tasks. Review your plan regularly and if there is a cyberattack on your organization or employees.
- Prioritize investments in cybersecurity. Work with your IT team to determine what you need for a trustworthy security framework. Invest in in firewalls, as well as threat-monitoring and endpoint protections tools.
- Take time to train employees, and retrain workers every time you upgrade, change, or add technology. Make sure they know red flags to watch for and report and are comfortable telling someone if they fall victim to a scam.
