  • Being policy first, people second.
  • Fearing external partners.
  • Being the company police.
  • Talking about people.
  • Keeping HR inside HR.

Next, there are some things you’re already doing that you should continue:

  •  Listening.
  •  Coaching.
  • Being “in the moment.”
  • Removing barriers and obstacles.

Finally, some news trends are in order. Don’t wait to start:

  • Being a CEO whisperer.
  • Shepherding the culture.
  • Allowing people to be themselves.
  • Having fun.
