Increasingly, texting is for much more than chatting with friends or sharing messages with colleagues or family members. Employers are using platforms such as TextRecruit to communicate with job candidates. Studies have shown that people are more likely to respond to a text than an email; and it enables 24/7 communication, which can be helpful in healthcare settings where people don’t necessarily keep traditional 9-5 hours. Texting, video chatting, special job websites, online classifieds and mobile apps, and other familiar technology is helping companies search and find the best candidates for job openings. It only makes sense to employ the technology that people are already using.
