According to a new study of American workers, love is in the air at work:
- 77% of respondents said they’ve had a sexual or romantic relationships with a coworker at some time. This is up from 58% in 2021.
- 37% said they see these relationships as “potentially problematic.”
- 64% of workers said that they have a close friend or “work spouse,” up from 24% in 2021.
- About half of workers reported being sexually harassed at some point. Native American or Indigenous and Black workers were more likely to say they’ve been sexually harassed.
Organizations help protect their workers by having a strong and clearly communicated policy requiring disclosures and addressing harassing and keeping detailed documentation of complaints.
