(10/6) Report: Over a Third of Gen-Z and Millennial Workers Are Looking for a New Job

By Joanne Kaldy / October 5, 2021

According to new research from Paychex, Inc., your younger workers are more likely to be lured away to other opportunities. A survey conducted in partnership with Future Workplace found that one in three Gen-Z and Millennial workers are actively seeking a new job. This is nearly twice the number of Boomers and Gen Xers looking for greener pastures.

According to the survey results, workers of all ages look for the following benefits to keep them loyal to their company:

  • Higher pay (61%)
  • A stay bonus (39%)
  • More paid time off (39%)
  • Flexible working hours (35%)

For younger workers specifically, their top priorities include flexible work hours, mental and wellness benefits, and familial care benefits.

“The way employers approach workplace flexibility and embrace both the lessons learned and the challenges of the past 18 months may have a lasting impact on who stays, who exists, and who builds their skills to prepare for a new role at their company,” says Alison Stevens, director of HR Services at Paychex.
