(1/6) The Post-Holiday Funk Is Real

Despite the new year resolutions and promise of a fresh start, it’s too easy for you and/or your employees to fall into a post-holiday funk. It can last well into January and negatively impact productivity and morale if you don’t do something about it.

Here are a few steps you can take to go from funk to fantastic as 2020 gets underway:

  • Encourage specific plans, or implementation intentions, that turn goals into detailed actions and tasks that you can put on your calendar.
  • Use social comparisons (with those who are doing better or worse than you) as motivations spurring you to greater heights.
  • Don’t expect perfection. Don’t give up or get discouraged if you make missteps or find yourself falling into old habits. Just regroup and keep moving forward.
